Get Involved

The Shalom Park Freedom School Needs Volunteers Like You!

We rely on support from volunteers of all ages to provide our scholars with a summer experience they will never forget.

Adults (age 18 and older) are encouraged to volunteer with Shalom Park Freedom School in any way that they can.

High School Students (10th, 11th or 12th graders) can also volunteer in any way that they can. Volunteers in this age group can volunteer without parental supervision.

Younger Teens (rising 7th, 8th or 9th graders) must be accompanied by a parent or other adult, who has completed the volunteer registration process, when volunteering onsite and offsite. The parent or adult is responsible for the younger teen’s safety and compliance with Freedom School safety and behavior standards.

Younger teens with their parents can volunteer with Level 1 (K-2) classes. Volunteer opportunities include Harambee, On-site Activities, Field Trip Chaperone, Meet and Greet Desk Assistant, Videography/Photography, Site Set-Up/Break-Down, Supply Drive, Field Day Support, Parent Evenings, Finale, and Appreciation Bags for Interns.

Take a look at this list of 2017 Volunteer Opportunities to learn about one-time and ongoing opportunities to volunteer.

Create a Volunteer Profile and Sign Up for Activities and Events Online

Click here to create a volunteer profile on Shalom Park’s Volunteer Hub. All volunteers are required to accept Freedom School Partners’ Child Protection Policy. This is done for the safety and security of our scholars and volunteers. Once the registration process is completed, volunteers can sign up for activities and events! Parents of younger teen volunteers are required to use their volunteer profile when signing up for volunteer opportunities.
